Something like this: Glamour = idealization + sprezzatura +
distance + mystery.
The point she makes that I love is what’s left out. What I’m trying to write is somewhat the
opposite of glamour ~ I try to capture the small moments in life and dramatize
them effectively. These moments are often the unglamorous ones, the ones that
more stylized writing leaves out.
I’m going to be thinking about this a long time. How do I encorporate glamour to make a more
satisfying piece of art yet stay true to lived experience?
